How to listen to Ember Radio

Listening On This Website

When we are on air, a radio player will appear at the bottom of the page. You should be able to use this player in either a mobile or desktop browser and it should play in the background, allowing you to chat along in the Slack channel

Installing VLC

You may prefer to listen to Ember using a desktop or mobile application. VLC is freely available for Windows, MacOS and Linux. Click here to install it

Listening using VLC Desktop

1. Open the VLC application in MacOS or Windows
2. In the VLC top menu, go to Media -> Open Network Stream
3. Copy and paste the following URL: https://us3.internet-radio.com/stream/emberradio/stream.pls in the stream field
4. Click the Play button
5. The dialog box should disappear and you should be playing the radio station

Listening using VLC Mobile

1. Open the VLC application in iOS or Android
2. In the bottom menu, choose the Network icon
3. In the Network menu, choose the Open Network Stream option
4. Copy and paste the following URL: https://us3.internet-radio.com/stream/emberradio/stream.pls in the stream field
5. Click the Open Network Stream button
6. You should enter a play mode and be playing the radio station

Listening using your favorite Radio App

Ember Radio uses the Icecast2 protocol, which is compatible with most radio clients. Feel free to use your favorite radio application. Some examples are: Apple Music (MacOS),Itunes (Windows), Apple Podcasts (iOS),Winamp and TuneIn Radio
